Cardiovascular and respiratory diseases remain among the leading causes of death worldwide, placing immense strain on healthcare systems. As mortality rates from these conditions are projected to rise sharply in the coming years, there is a critical need for innovative technologies, advances in clinical practice, and integrated systems to improve the detection, monitoring, treatment, and prevention of these diseases.
​The ACE LAB (Advanced Cardiorespiratory Engineering Laboratory) is a collaborative research initiative uniting medical professionals and engineers to pioneer new solutions for cardiovascular and respiratory health challenges. A joint effort between the Queensland University of Technology, the Centre for Biomedical Technologies, and healthcare providers, ACE LAB provides a unique platform to address real-world clinical problems through cutting-edge engineering approaches.
